Du Parc Residence

Located at the foot of Mont-Mégantic and in the heart of the Dark Sky Reserve, this century residence is made up of an existing volume and a contemporary annex that uses the architectural language of the eastern townships. An annex is added to the property to create a multi-generation space where tradition and modernity come together on a daily basis. This project is deployed by following the sunshine on site in a simple and aesthetic way. In contrast to the colors of its surroundings, the building evolves with the natural light and changing skies.

The fenestration proposal on the facades opens up the volume towards the forest and the chain of mountains that stand in the background, while maintaining the privacy of the various generations who live together. Concise openings in the facade provide diffused light and privacy upon arrival, while panoramic windows allow generous spaces to be generated on fallow nature. Here, the line between interior and exterior vanishes to allow the contemplation of starry skies, moonrises and fragile climates. Through this work of composition, a direct link is possible between the generations thanks to nature, which acts as a binding element.
