Located at the foot of Pic de la Loutre, this new residence unfolds with a horizontal formal shift, while drawing on the architectural language of the Eastern Townships. This shift creates interstitial spaces that connect directly with the site. Framing the landscape, they allow for an intimate experience of the building in harmony with the natural environment.
The living spaces on the upper floor offer breathtaking views of Mount Orford while respecting the site’s topographical constraints. Meanwhile, the private spaces on the ground floor provide a close connection with the rock face located at the rear of the building. The tension generated by the proximity of the building to the rock face contrasts with the openness of the upper-level living spaces to various viewpoints.
