Marilène Blain-Sabourin,
Architect MOAQ

Originally from Montreal, Marilène Blain-Sabourin studied environmental design at the Université du Québec à Montréal. She then worked at the Cirque du Soleil as a creative content designer, and then as a consultant at the Wildlife Conservation Society for the development of the Conkouati-Douli National Park before pursuing her education in architecture at the Université de Montréal. After receiving her degree, she worked at DFS Architecture until 2017. Since 2013, she has been involved in the Architecture Sans Frontières Québec organization also in addition to intermittently working for Habitat for Humanity. She has also participated in the development of an evolving house project in Concepcion (Chile) with Alejandro Arajena. Recipient of the 2014 Zumbotel International Innovation award, this project helped vulnerable families in Southern Chile access housing. With extensive professional experience that led her to work in Quebec and abroad, she wishes to use her expertise within a collaborative approach that places humankind and the cultural landscape at the heart of project design.
